This product that falls in the inverter group gives a DC output which is specifically meant for lighting CFL products from 33W upto 90W.    Indications:        1. Mains on: this LED is lighted up whenever the mains is on. 80V to 300V. 2. Battery low: When the battery voltage falls to just about 10.5V,the UPS is cut off and this LED lights up. 3. UPS on: When the power is drawn from the battery, this LED indicates the same. 4. Short circuit/ overload: This LED has 2 functions. When overload takes place this LED blinks and when there is short circuit remains fully lit. 5. Battery charging/charged : When the battery is under charge this LED blinks and when fully charged goes solid Output voltage: This is pure DC suitable only for driving lighting loads with either an SMPS or electronic choke front end. The following are test results with a load of 33W TO 45W.

Charging method: This is designed around an SMPS circuit instead of cheap transformer method so that the battery charging within the given duration is guaranteed unlike simple systems normally used in similar products. This is because the SMPS circuit gives a constant desired voltage irrespective of the mains conditions whereas the transformer cannot do the same. Sometimes a transformer does not even give the required voltage to charge the battery and at other times it gives too high a voltage that damages the battery beyond recovery. None of these problems are in this product. Microcontroller: This product is integrated by an intelligent microcontroller that monitors all possibilities and control them accurately so that the best product at the cheapest price can be made available to customers.

Some of the functions are: a) Monitoring battery voltage during discharge and cutting it off at the right low voltage so that maximum backup and minimum battery load are possible. b) The microcontroller acts to protect the system from unintended overload and short circuit conditions. When an overload takes place (anything above 40W) the system shuts down for 15 seconds and again starts up and if the overload has been removed the system continues to function normally. If on the other hand, a short circuit occurs, the system shuts off permanently and would recover only if the AC supply and the battery are removed from it. To remove the battery electrically, it is sufficient to put off the inverter on switch and then put it on back after removing the short circuit conditions. c) Monitors the charging of battery. The microcontroller calculates the time required to charge the battery by determining the battery discharge level, battery health and the present battery voltage. Because of this the charging time can vary between 3 minutes and 11 hours."
